ABOUT

REBECCA SANKER

LICENSED MASSAGE THERAPIST

CERTIFIED MASTER OF WISDOM AND MEDITATION TEACHER

Hello! My name is Rebecca Sanker, and I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Lymphedema Therapist in Stroudsburg, PA. I specialize in the relief of pain, swelling, and inflammation due to injury, illness, or surgery through the use of therapeutic massage, lymphatic drainage, and all of the other skills in my toolbox.

My journey has been an interesting one. I graduated from Albright College with a B.A. in Psychology and after many years working in a psychiatric unit as a mental health technician I decided it was time to make a change. Although I still have a love for psychology, the psychiatric unit because taxing on both my physical and mental health. After months of soul searching, I realized that I wanted to continue helping people through the use of massage therapy.

Right around the time I turned 30, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. As you can imagine this was mind-blowing at the time especially since I was still in massage school. Thankfully I was able to finish my massage classes while going to chemotherapy and graduated in December of 2014. The health struggle did not end there though, I still had to have a lumpectomy and radiation treatments. It is with great gratitude that I was able to beat breast cancer but it was one of the hardest times in my life to that point. I received my massage license in May of 2015 and have been an amazing journey ever since.

Since I received my license, I have chosen my continuing education classes specifically to provide me with the tools to work with who are living with swelling and inflammation, and pain following surgery, injury, or illness. I have a passion for helping my clients to live the best life possible.

In addition to massage therapy, I am a Master of Wisdom and Meditation teacher though the 285-hour intensive meditation teacher course through the Davidji Meditation Academy. I have learned many types of meditations and did a deep dive into the ancient and modern teachings and scriptures behind the practice of meditation.

When I am not massaging, I can be found teaching Colorguard with the East Stroudsburg North Marching Band, spending time with my husband, our fur children Eli and Kali, friends and family. I am also an active member of the Kiwanis Club of the Stroudsburg; volunteering my time as a Kiwanis Advisor for the East Stroudsburg South Key Club, and as a Zone Administrator for the PA Key Club District Board.
