Is there parking? There is metered street parking in front of the office building. The meter fee is $0.25 per 15 minutes, $1.00 per hour. Meters accept quarters only, or you can use the parking app on your phone. In addition to street parking, you may park behind the Wallace Building (directly behind the office). Please know that if you do park in the parking lot, you will be required to walk around the front of the building to enter the office. There is also a handicap parking space near the entrance of the office. Please know this parking space serves all of the businesses on the block and is not always available.

Is your space handicap accessible? The office is on the first floor of the building and there are no steps to enter the office. All doorways in the office are handicap accessible. I have many clients that use accessibility devices such as canes, walkers, and wheelchairs. The massage table can be lowered to make it easier for you to get on and off the table. There is also a handicap parking space near the entrance of the office. Please know this parking space serves all of the businesses on the block and is not always available.

What is your cancelation policy?Cancellation and Lateness Policy: All appointment cancellations must be 24 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment time. If the cancellation occurs with less than 24 hours notice, regardless of the reason for canceling, you will be sent an invoice for 50% of the total of your scheduled appointment. This fee must be paid prior to booking your next massage service. All No Shows to scheduled appointments will be sent an invoice for the entire price of the service that was scheduled. This fee must be paid prior to booking your next massage service. If you arrive late for your scheduled appointment time, your appointment time may be shortened based on appointments that follow yours as well as the need for adequate clean up time between sessions. Depending on how late you arrive, I will decide if there is enough time remaining to start the massage or we may decide to focus on a specific part of the body rather than a full body massage. Regardless of the length of hands-on time during this massage, you will be responsible to pay for the full session that was scheduled. Out of respect to myself and my other clients, please plan accordingly and be on time.
-
I am sick, should I keep my massage?I treat a variety of different clients including cancer patients, elderly clients, and pregnant mothers who are high risk for illness. To protect my other clients and myself from getting sick, I ask that you please do not come in for a massage if you are sick. If you are unsure if you should come in for your massage, please reach out to me ahead of the massage, and we can discuss if you should reschedule your appointment. Depending on the circumstances, the cancellation fee may be waived and will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

What should I expect at my first massage?Prior to your first massage, I will send you a short intake form to fill out with your medical history. At your first session, we will briefly review your medical history to ensure that massage therapy is appropriate for you. Once completed, I will give you instructions on how to prepare yourself for the massage and answer any questions you may have for me prior to the session. I will excuse myself from the room and provide you privacy. You will undress and get onto the table covered by the sheets and blanket on the table. I will knock on the door and make sure you are ready before entering and the massage will begin.

Do I need to take my clothes off?No, you do not need to take your clothes off for a massage. All of the massages offered by me at Massage By Rebecca Poconos can be performed fully dressed. During a traditional massage, clothes are usually removed, but you can choose to remove as much clothing as you feel comfortable.
-
Does massage hurt?A massage should never be painful and does not need to hurt to be beneficial. During the massage I will check in with you to make sure the pressure is comfortable for you. I also encourage all my clients to communicate with me and let me know at any time during the massage if they would like more or less pressure. Also, sometimes different body parts may be more sensitive to pressure than others, for example, more pressure may feel good on the neck, shoulders, and back but less may feel better on the legs. Communication is key for the best massage.

What if I fall asleep, snore, or drool?Falling asleep during a massage is perfectly normal and it happens a lot. During a massage, I create a calming environment that promotes relaxation with soothing music playing. If you drift off, there is no need for concern, this is your body's way of responding to the therapeutic effects of the massage. I will continue with the session as planned, ensuring you receive the full benefits of the massage. Just relax and enjoy your time.
